This month is National Parks and Recreation Month! July has arrived and there are signs of summer all around. The sun rises early and sets late, allowing for more time to do what you love the most. Whether you are a CRT patient, caregiver, family member, or friend, we encourage you to make the most of this summer. Did you know that spending time outdoors can benefit both the mind and body? Highlighted below are reasons to celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month.
Fresh Air- Breathing fresh air has many benefits for your entire body. It improves digestion, blood pressure, and heart rate. Being outdoors can make you happier and reduces stress. It also improves the immune system and cleans out the lungs.
Quality Time with Family and Friends- We all know children grow up fast and time passes quickly. We can’t control the passing of time, but we can control what we do with it. Summer is a great time to plan a vacation or spend a day doing something fun with people you love. After packing a picnic and games, a day at the park can be a great way to bond with loved ones and get to know each other better.
Are you unable to go to a park easily? Try a staycation- Whether you are a CRT patient, caregiver, family member, or friend we understand the difficulties of traveling. With equipment and unique medical needs, going far from home can be a hassle. While you may not be able to travel far, you can enjoy a “staycation.” Take time away from work and daily routine to enjoy time at home. Pamper yourself with a bubble bath, manicure, or facial. Take time to cook, knit, play games, watch movies, or whatever you wish you had more time for. Stress can build up and come out in ways you don’t intend. It is important to slow down, take a deep breath, and take time for yourself.
We hope you take a break this month and enjoy time with family and friends. NCART can educate you on current political issues on the federal and state levels. We have resources available to provide you with facts about CRT and how we hope to improve government policies. Visit our site to learn more today.
